This Privacy Policy informs you how your information is collected, stored, and used by us when you use our Privacy Knight (“Services”). By using our Services, you understand and agree that we may collect, store, and use your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy is incorporated into the Privacy Knight Terms of Services (“Terms”) by reference. Any terms used in this Privacy Policy will have the same meanings as those in the Terms unless otherwise specified. This Privacy Policy only applies to the information collected, stored, and used from our Services by us, and does not apply to information collected through any third party services that you may access through our Services, or by any advertisers on our Services.

1.    The Information We Collect

1)    When you use our Services via a computer, we may automatically collect information about your browser and computer such as your IP address, MAC address, the version and type of the browser, your operating system and its version, screen resolution, the web pages you’ve visited, the web links you’ve clicked, and etc. 

2)    When you use our Services via our mobile app, we may automatically collect information about your mobile device such as the brand and model of your device, IMEI, IMSI, the carrier, your geographical location, the list of apps already installed in your mobile and frequency or any other information about your usage to such apps, ets.

3)    You have the options to disable our right to access your correspondence and geographic location from your mobile device (if available). If you choose to do so, however, some or all of our Services may not be available to you. 

2.    How We Use Your Information

1)    We may use your information for any of the following purposes: to provide our Services to you; for customer service, security and safety, fraud-detection, backup, and maintenance; to personalize our Services to you by using targeted advertising and direct marketing and understanding better your preferences and usage behaviors; to improve our existing products and services and develop new products and services; and to assess the effectiveness of our promotional activities in connection with our Services. 


2)    You understand and agree that your personal information collected by us through our Services, subject to user privacy controls wherever available, may be used (in both aggregated or individualized manners) by our other services offered by Taobao and its affiliate companies with the aim of providing you with a better and harmonized experience. If any of your personal information comprises Your Content (as defined in the Terms), Taobao and its affiliate companies may, subject to this Privacy Policy, use such information in accordance with the content provisions of the Terms. 

3.    Cookies

1)    We may use web beacons, log files, and cookies to collect and store information about you or relating to you while you use some of our Services for the purposes of session management, customerization and personalization, fraud-protection, and account security. Specifically, we may use web beacons to collect information concerning your usage such as the web pages you have visited, the web links you have clicked, and error logs. We may also use log files containing information such as your IP address, requested URLs, request time, cookies, accepted language, server protocol, and port to track your usage. When you access your organization or group administrator account through our back end web applications, we may use cookies to ensure the normal operation, security, and integrity of your account. Our cookie may include organization or group ID, user ID, admin name, random numbers or tokens for verification and authentication purposes.

2)       You have the option to block and delete cookies from your browser. Please refer to the help manuals of your browser for detailed instructions. You understand that if you choose to block or delete cookies, you may not be able to sign in or use some features of our Services that depend on cookies, and any advertising preferences that are dependent on cookies may be lost.

4.    Sharing of Your Personal Information

1)       We may share your personal information with third parties with your consent. We may also share your personal information (i) with our affiliates and vendors (e.g., companies we hire to provide customer support and security); (ii) when required by law,  to respond to a court order, subpoena, or other legal proceedings, or where we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with applicable laws and regulations; (iii) to protect our customers and lives; (iv) to maintain the security and integrity of our Services; and (v) to protect the rights or property of Taobao and its affiliates.

2)    Where we or our affiliates companies do share your personal information with any third parties, we will use reasonable efforts to ensure that such third parties abide by our data privacy requirements (including appropriate confidentiality and security measures) and are not allowed to use the information for any other purposes. You consent to the third party use, sharing and transfer of your personal information (both inside and outside of your jurisdiction) as described in this section.

3)    As our business grows, we may be acquired by a third party or re-organize our group structure. In such cases your information will be transferred to a third-party or a different group of ours, who will continue to operate our Services or similar services under this Privacy Policy or a different privacy policy which will be provided to you.

5.    Your Right to Opt Out

1)       You understand that we may use the information you provide to us to send emails and newsletters to you, or push notifications to your device. If you no longer wish to receive these communications, you can do so by following the instructions to unsubscribe set forth in our communication we send to you, opt out of the future notifications at the device level (if available), or contact us.

2)       You understand that we may also from time to time send you service-related announcements when we consider it necessary to do so (such as when we temporarily suspend one of our Services for maintenance). These service-related announcements are not promotional in nature and may not be opted out by you.

6.    The Information We Do Not Intend to Collect

1)    Some personal information such as your mental health condition, sexual orientation, medical history is considered “sensitive” in some jurisdictions, and is subject to heightened regulation than the other types of personal information. You understand that the information and content you choose to input into our Services such as photographs and self-introductions may reveal your sensitive personal information to the others. We do not intend to collect such sensitive personal information from you and any such sharing of sensitive personal information is entirely at your own sole discretion and risk.

2)    We do not intend to collect personal information from children under the ages of thirteen (13). Please contact us if you believe that we may have personal information from children under the ages of 13, and we will investigate promptly and remove such information upon confirmation.  

7.    Transfer, Storage, and Security of Your Personal Information

1)    We may operate servers in a number of jurisdictions around the world. You understand that the server on which your personal information is stored may not be located in your jurisdiction. You consent to the transfer of your personal information (both inside and outside of your jurisdiction) for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

2)    We adopt various measures to safeguard the security and integrity of your personal information. For example, we use encryption technology to protect certain personal information provided by you. However, our Services, systems, and networks may be subject to security breaches and failures which are at times due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Subject to applicable laws and regulations, you may have the right to be notified of any security breaches or failures that may present a compromise to your personal information. In such cases we will take reasonable steps to conduct investigations and report our findings to you within a reasonable period of time.       

8.    Retention Period

1)    Subject to applicable laws and regulations, we will only store and use your personal information for so long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes as set out under “How We Use Your Information” section in this Privacy Policy.

2)    Subject to applicable laws and regulations, you may have the right to request a copy of, make corrections to, or request to delete some or all of your personal information at our possession. You may correct and amend (some of) your personal information from our Services by logging into your account and making the appropriate changes. For any other requests or concerns regarding the retention of your personal information, please contact us in accordance with the contact information provided by this Privacy Policy. We will respond to your request in due course.

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Services or in accordance with customer feedback. We encourage you to review our Privacy Policy periodically to be informed of how we collect, store and use your information. Where we consider any changes to this Privacy Policy reasonably material, we will notify you prior to such changes becoming effective (via email, notice upon your account login, or any other means).
